DRDO Graduate Apprentice Trainees Vacancy – Ministry of Defense
Under the provisions of The Apprentices Act, 1961, Director, Gas Turbine Research Establishment (GTRE), Bengaluru invites online applications from eligible candidates for Graduate / Diploma / ITI (Engineering) and General Stream – B.Com. / B.Sc. / B.A (Non-Engineering) Apprenticeship Training for the Financial Year 2022-23 as per details below:-

A degree granted by a statutory University/ by an institution empowered to award such degrees by an Act of Parliament / Educational Institutes established by a State
Government / by an Institute recognised by the State Government or Central Government
Age Limit: Minimum Age – 18 years
Maximum Age –
• Unreserved
category – 27 yrs
• OBC – 30 yrs
• SC/ST – 32 yrs
• PWD – 37 yrs
Salary:
Non Engineering – General Stream
Graduate Apprentice (B.Com./ B.Sc. / B.A) : Rs.9000/-per month
Note:-
1. For the above-mentioned vacancies, reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS
categories will be applicable as per provisions of the Ministry of Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Central Apprenticeship Rules, Apprentices Act 1961,
Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2015 & 2019.
2. The number of vacancies mentioned above is only indicative and may change at a
later stage depending on the final assessment of eligible applications received.
Important Instruction:
1. The engagement and training will be strictly in accordance with the Apprentices Act,
1961, Apprenticeship Rules and its amendments from time to time and there is no obligation for employment of apprentices on completion of their training.
2. The tenure of the Apprenticeship for the above categories /trades would be 12 months commencing from the execution of the contract of Apprenticeship
3. Registration of BE/B.Tech./Diploma (Engineering) & General Stream – B.Com. /B.Sc. /B.A (Non-Engineering) candidates on (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) and ITI candidates on the Apprenticeship portal (www.apprenticeshipindia.org) is mandatory. Kindly see respective websites for registration. The registration no. is to be uploaded while filling out the online application.
4. The above registration no. is liable to be verified at the time of selection /
Document verification.
5. For B.E / B.Tech. / Diploma (Engineering) Apprentice Trainees & General
Stream – B.Com. /B.Sc. / B.A (Non-Engineering) Apprentice Trainees only;
Candidates who have passed in the year 2019/2020/2021 (last three years) as
regular candidates are only eligible to apply. Candidates who have passed the
qualifying exam earlier than 2019 are not eligible.
6. Candidates with higher qualifications are not eligible to apply.
7. OBC certificate whose validity has expired would not be accepted for granting
concession.
8. ITI Apprentice Trainees only; Candidates must have completed ITI from NCVT
or SCVT Board.
9. Applications of those candidates who have appeared in the qualifying examination
but whose results have not been declared / available as on the date advertisement will NOT be considered for training. Provisional Degree Certificates of the qualifying exam would however be acceptable during the time of joining, but final degree certificates shall have to be submitted as & when received for verification and acceptance.
10. Suppression of facts will lead to disqualification, at any stage of the selection
process or during the training period.
11. Those candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular
candidates are only eligible to apply.
12. Selection of candidates from SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS category would be as per
Apprenticeship Rules.
13. PWD candidates are eligible only for the designated trades as per Apprenticeship
Rules.
14. Candidates who have already undergone Apprenticeship Training or at
present undergoing Apprenticeship Training under any organization are
not eligible to apply.
15. Candidates with more than one-year work experience are not eligible to
apply.
16. No TA/DA shall be given to the candidates for interview / Document
verification / joining GTRE as Apprentice Trainees.
17. The Apprentice Trainees will not be provided any quarters/hostel accommodation by this establishment at the time of the interview and also during the training period.
How to Apply :
1. Applications are to be submitted online through the following website/link:
rac.gov.in or drdo.gov.in (‘What’s New’ section)
2. Candidates are requested to fill up correct details against all the fields along with
uploading of scanned copies of all the mandatory documents (as per list).
3. The marks obtained in the qualifying exam are to be mentioned in percentage. In the case of CGPA, candidates are requested to convert the CGPA into percentage as per their university norms and the same will be verified during document verification.
4. Candidates are required to bring a signed printout of the application along with
the originals of the documents submitted online at the time of joining at GTRE,
Bengaluru.
5. Online Applications after the last date would NOT be accepted. Incomplete or
partially filled application forms would not be accepted.
Selection Process :
1. Graduate Apprentice Trainees (B.E / B.Tech. / Equivalent); Diploma Apprentice Trainees / ITI Apprentice Trainees / General Stream (B.Com. / B.Sc. / B.A) Apprentice Trainees: Depending upon the vacancies available in various disciplines, selection of candidates will be carried out by shortlisting on the basis of Academic Merit/Written Test/Interview as required, subject to satisfactory verification of the documents,
2. Details of shortlisted candidates will be published in the DRDO website. Candidates
are advised to check regularly on the website for updates.
General Instructions :
1. It should be noted that the selection and training of apprentices are strictly in
compliance with the provisions of Apprentices Act 1961 and its amendments and
NO EMPLOYMENT IS GUARANTEED TO THE APPRENTICES ON COMPLETION
OF THEIR TRAINING.
2. Candidates before filling the application form shall ensure that they fulfill all the
eligibility conditions for the apprenticeship training. If at any stage of selection or even
after selection and joining or during training, it comes to notice that the candidate/trainee does not fulfill any of the eligibility conditions or the facts stated are not true or the documents enclosed by the applicant are false/forged, the candidature of joining such individual shall be withdrawn immediately without assigning any reason.
3. All applicants are required to bring a self-attested copy of the documents mentioned
below & its original certificates along with the printout of the application form during
document verification / joining:-

(ii) B.E/B.Tech/Diploma/ITI / Degree (B.com. / B.Sc. / B.A) Mark sheets for all semesters /
year wise
(iii) Degree / Provisional Degree Certificate

(v) PWD Certificate (if applicable)
(vi) Photo ID card issued by Govt. of India (Preferably Aadhaar Card)
(vii) EWS certificate (if applicable)
(viii) Two Passport size photographs
(ix) Police Verification Certificate (District Authority)
(x) Medical Fitness Certificate
4. The Management reserves the right to amend/refix/cancel/suspend the
selection process at any time during the process without assigning any reason
whatsoever. The decision of the Management shall be final and binding and no appeal
of any kind shall be accepted/entertained/considered in this regard.
5. Request for settlement of any dispute arising out of the application in reference to
this advertisement can only be initiated in Gas Turbine Research Establishment
(GTRE), Bengaluru.
6. No correspondence shall be entertained from the candidates not selected for
training.
7. Results will be published on www.drdo.gov.in under the ‘What’s New’ section.
8. Candidates would be informed through ‘The DRDO website (www.drdo.gov.in) or
via email mentioned in their application form regarding any change/amendment/
update till the final selection process is completed.
9. Selected candidates shall have to sign a contract on the date of joining as per
Govt. of India rules.
10. Candidates finally selected will have to produce valid police verification
certificate at the time of joining from their place of last residence (for at least past one
year) / permanent address.
